Industrial Safety
Concerns
Industrial machinery and work sites can be some of the most hazardous places to work if you are in the industry. With large machines churning out both heavy amounts of sound and noise, the danger is also compacted by the variety of physical dangers of moving parts, vehicles and hoisted items.
In such situations, communication can mean the difference between healthy living and heavy industrial accidents and even death. It is with concerns in mind that UmeVoice developed several headsets to maintain communication even in loud, 100+ decibel environments and still be heard clearly.
How does theBoom work?
theBoom headsets combine both noise-cancelling technology with the best in hearing protection by utilizing several industrial-grade components with our patented technology. Some examples of headsets used in Industrial and Construction fields are our theCobra and theBoom Bone Conduction headset with theCobra Mic.
In the case of theBoom Quiet, the headset has a large set of ANR headphones, along with our patented noise reduction microphone; for those situations were loud noise is in moderate to high levels, such as heavy machinery on a factory floor, loud construction vehicles and moderate drilling equipment.
theBoom Bone Conduction headset is used for those situations where earplugs and double protection is a necessity in the workplace, such as nuclear power stations, aircraft crews and other situations where the noise is well above 100 decibels. In such situations, the noise is so loud, even only a few seconds of unprotected exposure can cause permanent damage. Bone conduction actually transfers sound through the bones on your temples and cheeks directly to the inner ear, allowing the user to have earplug in, but also be able to hear the speaker in perfect clarity.
For more information on these technologies, please look at the pages for both theBoom Quiet and theBoom Bone Conduction.
